Summit Medical Center Helps Schools Weather the Flu Season

November 5, 2009 Van Buren, Ark. – Summit Medical Center is helping to keep our community healthy this year by donating hand sanitizer to all the schools in Crawford County.  As flu season hits our area, hand washing and hand sanitizer are important in the prevention of the illness   The staff of Summit Medical Center will be delivering the hand sanitizer to Van Buren, Alma, Cedarville, Mountainburg, Mulberry, and Alma schools beginning the first week of November.  In all, more than 1,000 containers will be handed out.   The first school to receive the hand sanitizers this year was Alma High School.  Principal Jerry Valentine accepted the donation from Stacy Caldarera, PR & Marketing Director and Jacque Sullins, Chief Nursing Officer at Summit Medical Center..   If you are interested in finding out more about flu prevention or making an appointment to receive a flu shot, you can contact Cornerstone Clinic at 474-1100 or Internal Medicine & Associates at 471-4147.
